Playing With Super Power: Nintendo Super NES Classics

As the SNES Classic launches today (at least four have allegedly been spotted in the wild thus far!), Prima Games and Nintendo have partnered to release “Playing With Super Power: Nintendo Super NES Classics”. Yes, Nintendo Super Nintendo Entertainment System Classics. Just roll with it.

Written by Sebastian Haley and Meagan Marie, it features contributions from various fans and fan communities. Listed among such luminaries as Starmen.net and Video Games Live is… us? Why, yes. US! We’ve get a two-page spread in an official Nintendo publication that also features an intro by Reggie Fils-Aimé. There are only three hundred some pages separating us, so I feel like we’re practically family at this point.

In it, I discuss the importance of Donkey Kong Country, while the history of DK Vine itself is also briefly touched upon. To read it and all of the other great content in the book, including the story behind the development of the Super Nintendo and a multitude of pages on each and every game in the Super NES Classic, check it out at a bookstore near you today!

CONGRATULATION! indeed DKVine is one of the few Nintendo fansites still going around since the early Internets! I think of all the fansites I used to visit only DKVine, Starmen.net and The Mushroom kingdom are still around (I'm always amazed that no Zelda site lasted, the same for the Pokémon sites Serebii.net and Bulbapedia are kinda new compared to those three I mentioned)

Just wanted to log in to say that I managed to grab one of these bad boys today (the SNES Classic).

It's been probably over 15 years now since I last held a genuine SNES controller. Shit feels good. It's also great to own SMW2 again and have Star Fox 2's official release (as a huge fan of that series).

Alright, back to the nether world where I avoid this place. Congrats on the spread in the new Prima book, DK Vine.
