Swanky Kong's Biography
Species: Gorilla
Hark! O'er the wild rolling wind blows a gorilla who runs a cheap game show for a reptilian audience. No, it's not Richard Dawson. This titillating member of the Kong clan is none other than Swanky!
Swanky Kong began his life in the seventies; not a decade that you particularly want to grow up in. Swanky was introduced to television by his parents, and became enthralled with the American craze known as disco. He forced his confused parents to buy him John Travolta movies and platform shoes. Swanky was fully and literally warped. By the time the eighties rolled around, he had decided on a career in show business. He remained on Donkey Kong Island, isolated, while the more social Kongs played. His only companions during those harsh years were "Wrinkly" Kong, and the good 'ol television. Through the idiot box, his love for stardom grew, as he idolized Jeopardy host Alex Trebek. One fateful day in 1993, Swanky received a pamphlet from Crocodile Isle which described a gameshow hosting job that they were looking for. He jumped at the opportunity.
Bonus Bananza. This was the show. Contestants would answer questions to win prizes. The more difficult questions resulted in bigger prizes. It was a tried and tested formula that suited the almost negligible Kremling attention span perfectly. Eventually, the show grew popularity, and became known as Swanky's Bonus Bananza. A few years later, his brother Donkey Kong was captured by K. Rool and brought to Crocodile Isle. Swanky wanted to help, but his hectic broadcasting schedule prevented him from doing so. He soon met Diddy and Dixie Kong who had set out to rescue the ape. The "no free services" rule was in effect, but Swanky did manage to get them spots on his show as contestants. The final contestants at that, because his show came to an end at the conclusion of the adventure when Crocodile Isle sank to the bottom of the ocean.
Swanky moved in with his parents for a brief time, before moving to the Northern Kremisphere to start up a new way of earning money. It was dubbed "Swanky's Sideshow," a carnival type game that let people try to hit targets with baseballs for prizes. When DK and Diddy became M.I.A. during a vacation, Dixie went to the Northern Kremisphere in an adventure to find them. She and her cousin Kiddy ran into Swanky several times, who let them play his sideshow...for money, that is (Swanky's business was just starting out, and it probably wasn't very successful at the time, so you can't blame him for not offering free services). Swanky wasn't alone during this adventure though, as his father Cranky Kong had agreed to be the rival baseball thrower in the sideshow during the course of Dixie's adventure. It was a chance for him to prove that he could still outshine the younger heroes. If he failed, Swanky would give Dixie and Kiddy bananas and Bear Coins.
Swanky still lives in the Northern Kremipshere (most probably the Lake Orangatanga region), and as far as we know still operates the sideshow today.
