We had long since beaten DKC 3, and were awaiting something fresh from the DKU. No one had bought an N64, as there was no need to. Until Mario Kart 64.
This was the big gorilla's first venture into the dazzling world of three dimensions. The speed was there, the graphics were there, and the music had that odd, sensationalistic seventies feel to it. But we love it all the same.
