Multiple dimensions were always a part off existance. Very rarely did these dimensions ever cross paths. Sometimes quick tears in the time-space continuum would create short portals between these dimensions that would usually fix themselves in an instance, or sometimes portals would stay open forever to a dimension. However, the actual dimensions never came together. Until one day, that is....
The Mushroom Dimension was a place of magic. However, it was also a place of competition. Mario and his brother Luigi, who had been sucked into the Mushroom Dimension years earlier, were regarded as heroes. So they decided to sponser the Mario Kart competition, a go-kart race through rough tracks where the absolute best would win. However, as they were preparing the races, something big happened. The Mushroom Dimension's dimensional fabric broke down between the dimension next to it. Suddenly the dimension's collided and chaos broke loose. The Mushroom Kingdom's (a Kingdom in the Mushroom Dimension) king suddenly had to answer to several alarmed citizens. There was one key that could seperate the dimensions. It was an ancient artifact. A trophy with tremendous magical power. However, the king was never the bright one. He decided that he would reward the winner of the Mario Kart competition the trophy. Then they could decide what to do with it.
Meanwhile, in the other dimension, Donkey Kong realized what was going on. He decided to go by himself across to the other dimension to get some answers. However, he had no idea that he was going to meet an old family enemy or plant his furry arse in a nice leather go-kart seat....
