There was an idea in the Mushrom Kingdom. To create a land where one's wildest dreams could be made into a reality. To build such a place took talented people, for which there were plenty. Mario, Luigi, Peach Toadstool, Yoshi, Donkey Kong (who was asked to help build this place by Mario), and even Wario. All had fought each other around a year before in a quest to decide who was the biggest superstar. Since then, all had a respect for each other that carried over into their building of this new land in the Mushroom Dimension. In this land there were haunted regions, desert towns that resembled the Wild West, and even space stations. Once the work was complete, the six basked in the glory of it all. One problem arose however...what to name it. The first choice was "Mario Land," which did not bode well with five of the six. Several other names were brought up, all self serving, as the friendly pact to build a land of dreams turned into a huge argument.
Meanwhile, King Bowser Koopa escaped from his holding cell in prison, ready to seek revenge on his enemies. When he heard they had created "Mario Land," he decided to invade and take over. When Toad discovered the news, he gave an interesting proposition to the six. Whoever could defeat Bowser would get the land named after themselves. It would be a contest within an adventure, much like their competition the previous year. They would even roll dice again. And so they were off, to free it from Bowser's grasp, "Mario Land" or otherwise...
