Competitive events in the Mushroom Kingdom were becoming common place. Why, every few months it seemed as if there was some new great sporting rivalry going on. So it came as a surprise to no one late one summer that a tennis tournament started up, called the Mario Star Tournament. Several individuals were invited to participate from Mario's past, including Donkey Kong. However, there were a few who weren't invited...
...take Wario, for instance. Here he was, starting to develop an uneasy alliance with Mario and friends after helping battle Bowser in the past. He wasn't asked to be a part of the tourney, which severely bothered the Mario obsessed elf. Any normal person would have decided to get even, and even though Wario wasn't normal, he did just that. This time though, he got some help from his family. His brother adopted the name of "Waluigi" to be to Luigi as what Wario is to Mario. The both crashed the tournament, and managed to weasle their way in. They weren't the only ones though, as the hated Bowser and his trusty Boo associate both decided to crash the fun as well.
Who would be able to come out on top in the very end? Whose tennis skills were superior? Who would even be able to partner up with a past version of themselves? Why must everything be in the form of a question with you? Mario Tennis, hoo-hoo!
