Chiphead's Mario Tennis Review
It looks a lot like Mario Golf. The graphics are clear and you can tell
what's going on. The menus look nice, with pictures representing the
options, instead of that "text" crap that most games have.

Game Boy's sound is generally crap, so I won't mention sound effects much.
The music consisted mostly of Game Boy versions of Mario Tennis (N64) music,
including the DKC,Yoshi's Story, and Peach's Castle music. The new tunes
(like the ranking matches) are pretty good, but not as good as the DKL
trilogy.

Play control in tennis matches and Mario Mini-Games is just like the N64
game, only with select to cancel shots instead of Z. The + Control Pad moves,
which is great. It would just suck if pushing up on the + Control pad hit the
ball and A to move up. A and B are used for simple ball hitting, but when
their powers combine, Captain Planet comes and kicks ass
more complicated shots can be done.

If you own Mario Tennis for N64 and a Transfer Pak, you can do what you can
in Mario Golf. You can play as your Game Boy characters and get experience
points and copy N64 status to the Game Boy game. But that's not all. You can
also get Yoshi, Wario, Waluigi, Bowser, and mini-games for those characters.
And by completing some mini-games in the Game Boy game, you can get new
courts for the N64 game. Wahay! I think I'm forgeting something. Oh yeah. You
can also do things in the Game Boy game.
It's a pretty good game. The main problem I have is the matches are too long.
Each set is six games. I would have liked it better if there were only 2
games per set, especially in 2 on-1 It's pretty easy in the beginning, like
most games. It gets harder as you work your way into the traveling team. When
you get to the Island Open there's 5-set matches with 6 games in each set and
the AI makes you think you're playing against God, assuming God is almost
impossible to beat in Mario Tennis. At this point I haven't played much
doubles games, and my character was powerful. Damn that was easy. I also
found the doubles Island Open a lot easier than the singles one. I like
Mario Golf's single-player mode better.
Most of the Mario Mini-Games are good. I haven't beaten Mario yet. Peach's
Perfect Shot game was challengeng. Luigi's Shooting Star game was a bit easy.
Baby Mario's Target Shot is OK, but the second worst of the ones I've played.
Waluigi's Medallion Match was the easiest one. You need 300 points to beat
level 2 (In most games, you have to get a certain amount of points in levels
1 and 2. Level 3 is for a high score) and my high score is 3700. Wario's
Treasure box is addictive. My two favorite games are Yoshi's Fruit Fantasy
and Donkey Kong's Banana Bunch. They're addictive and they feature Yoshi and
Donkey Kong.
But there's one game I REALLY hate: Bowser's Two-on-One! I hate that bloody
game! It's not the fact that it's Wario and Waluigi against just Bowser. It's
the other things. For example, It's too long. Level one is a six-game set.
Level 2 is 3 sets. And Level 3 is 5 sets. I don't think it would piss me off
as much if the sets were only 2 games. Anoter reason why is .... damn I
forgot it..... uh... oh yeah. Now I remember. You can't save. You can save in
exibition and Mario Tour modes, and if Two-on-one takes so long, they should
at least let me save. I might even call it the Tennis Guru.
