Master Hand laughed devilishly inside his head. His scouting was done. He had finally determined who would be the combatants in the ultimate experiment: Pitting some of the greatest heroes of all time against each other....and seeing who would come out on top. His studies were long and hard, and even included monitoring a jealousy filled contest between heroes (and villians) that was determined by the roll of the dice. Finally though, he had made us his mind. Mario, the ordinary man who became an extraordinary hero in the Mushroom Dimension. Link, an elfin who saved the medieval kingdom of Hyrule time and time again. Samus, an intergalactic bounty hunter from the future who nearly wiped out the horrible Metroid. Kirby, the defender of Dream Land. Yoshi, Mario's good pal. Fox McCloud, futuristic head of the vigilante wingmen known as Star Fox. Pikachu, a brave "Pokemon" animal owned by an abnormally stupid Asian boy known as Ash who helped foil the evil animal poachers of Team Rocket. And Donkey Kong, a gorilla who had fought the forces of evil many times with the help of his family and friends. With his Chest Of Time that he built using his vast knowledge of magic (being that Master Hand was a magical being himself created by the Mushroom Kingdom's royal family to be their aid [but soon had other secret intentions]), he reached in and started grabbing the heroes one by one....
Donkey Kong was relaxing in his treehouse, watching television and listening to the tropical birds chirp outside. Suddenly he felt himself being pulled through the very fabric of time and space itself, unaware of what dangers awaited him.
