Kraid's Biography

Species: Zebesian Dinosaur thing
Kraid was an oddball. All evidence points to him originating from Zebes, though no one can really be sure. Just as with Ridley, the Mother Brain quickly got Kraid to join her cause, appointing to him the rule of Brinstar, the most accesible and vegetarian of the underground labrhynths. Twice he clashed claws with Samus Aran, and both times he got a fistful of Missiles in the mouth, sending him croaking to the floor.

Obviously Master Hand decided to use him before he died, because one of the arenas the villian used in his second Smash Bros. tournament was a highly unstable region of Brinstar Depths. Kraid would randomly pop up from the lava and shake the arena in an attempt to deter the intruders (and try to kill Samus while he was at it).
