Well, the NPD stats of the first-half arrived...about a week ago, but I was too damn lazy to pick it up. However, on this little checklist I have has EVERY SINGLE CONSOLE GAME THIS GENERATION and how much it sold. For sales nerds like me, this is kickass news. So I figured I would post some of these figures (though I know people here aren't sales diven).

Comments:
- GTA made nearly half a billion in revenue. Vice City is the fastest seller of this generation...by far.
- Also, GTA3 and Vice City have sold more than the GameCube. Heh.
- Madden is really that popular? I'd like to see the Madden 2004 then.
- Halownz!
- Grand Turismownz!
- Glad to see Smash Bros. and Wind Waker selling. But Mario Party...I see why they keep making 'em.
- Despite two months in the industry, Enter the Matrix for PS2 is in the top 50. 800,000+ suckers.
- Speaking of suckers, the DragonBall Z fighting game for PS2 sold a million.
- Some BMX game for GC only sold 11 copies? Hahaha!
- According to my chart a Mary Kate and Ashley game sold 75,000 combined on PS2 and GC. Sad.
- Oh, and BMX XXX sold the MOST on Xbox. Notable mention.
- And Dead or Alive: Xtreme Beach Volleyball sold 200,000 while I'm at it.

And hopefully there isn't any mistakes. Enjoy! Or...at least try to.

Ratchet and Clank seems a bit low on that list. Perhaps there was some behind-the-scenes meddling with this list, eh?

I own 5% of the Top 100 list.

Of course GTA: Vice topped the list. It's a really really fun and clever game. Plus, Gary Busey, Ray Liotta, and bleeding Miss Cleo are voice actors! When I worked at GameStop, my store (go store 0614!) topped the nationwide retailers for GTA Vice presales. As of two months before the game went on sale, when I quit, we had 153 reservations. Of those, I sold about 45 of them in the two-and-a-half months I worked there. I am a badass salesman.

Also, people in Pasadena, TX must really like stabbing pregnant women to death with a screwdriver.

11 people, is that since June 3rd, or only the exact amount of copies sold during a certain day?

No, it means as of June 2003.

And Vice City is fun. And wow, is it a hot seller or what?

I think I would've enjoyed Vice City if I never played GTA3. Vice City was pretty much just an expansion set of GTA3, they didn't really change the gameplay or anything. It just seemed a bit bland and boring, to me, because it was just more of the same.

But Casual Gamers live on that sort of thing.

I loved GTA3. I can't say I've played Vice City, although the concept is great. It made me crave a Donkey Kong game set in the '80s. After Donkey Konga, I've stopped dreaming up DK ideas. Now I want a Banjo game in the '80s, where Banjo wears day-glo, chucks, and has a Flock of Seagulls haircut.

Maybe Donkey Konga will take place in the 80s, screwing up the timeline even more.
