Little Luigi here with some thoughts on the DKC television show which I saw
recently. I cought it on Fox Family, it was looking good until DK and Diddy
talked. I'm not going to bore you with the details as many have before in
your letters section before but why?? Could they have made it worse, I don't
think it is possible to make it anymore worse.
Not to tease but the Mario cartoons were way better!
Anyways, I came to tell you that I didn't mean in my last letter (posted on
2/4/00) that Diddy Kong Racing sucked. I enjoyed that game, and believe it
or not, I enjoyed Mario is Missing (maybe it was just the thrill of being
Luigi). I was just pointing out that these guys have never and probably will
never have there own platformers. I guess it in't that bad. Afterall, I do
like the "other heroes", that's probably why Luigi and Diddy are my favorite
video game characters.
I'll try and submit some more artwork soon! Keep up the great work!
-Little Luigi
Oh ho...more artwork.....goodie....
We never thought you said DKR sucked. As for Mario is Missing...well, since you respect our tastes in games, we'll respect yours. And don't worry, we know the Mario cartoon(s) was better. They're hard pressed to get worse than the DKC show.
I'm extremely bored, so:
1.) Kiss Pathetic Chad's Only Fungus Growing Slippers
2.) Leigh Loveday (oh, wait, he has no life outside of Rareware)
3.) Billy the Three Legged Dog (Owner: Mr. Pants)
And even if those aren't right, "http://www.dreamwater.com/sectorn" is the address. YOU CAN'T ALTER THE LETTER! Heh heh heh.
Oh, and one other thing. You don't need three Links and three Zeldas. Ocarina comes first, but doesn't take any time up since you travel back the beginning again. That's were Mask of Mujula comes in, followed by Link a little older in A Link to the Past. A dream is all Link's Awakening is, doesn't take any time. Finally, Zelda 1 and Zelda 2 are Link as an Adult. Hyrule changed over time due to giant storms created by Ganon. Ha!
-SirNick5@AOL.com
The correct answers were....
1) Kings Play Cards On Fat Green Stools is a memory tool to help you remember the order in Taxonomy (Kingdom, Phylum, Order, Family, Genus, Species).
2) Tom Selleck
3) Yo Noid
And then why does Zelda not know Link in the storyline to A Link To The Past?
in DK64, how is Diddy supposed to free Tiny? I can't even find her! All I know is she's somewhere inside the Dome Temple in Angry Aztec. Please respond soon...this is driving me crazy!!
-Rags1096@aol.com
You know.... you might try reading past Letters. We've addressed thie several times. No matter, you have to pound the Diddy switch, backflip up the tongues, shoot the Peanut Switch, walk across the tongue, play the guitar which melts the ice, swim down there, chimpy charge Diddy's face, and then chimpy charge the K-O-N-G letters. That was all from memory too. Oh, yes, and since you wanted us to respond soon, we waited a whole ten days before posting this letter. Sorry, or you're welcome, depending on which way you look at it.
Why did Rare make DK64 for the N64, if they knew they could've waited
and make it for the Dolphin... Imagine how much even BETTER it could be,
even though it's a good game...
-lydells@jps.net
Then why did Rare made DKC for the SNES, if they knew they could've waited and made it for the N64...imagine how much BETTER it could have been, even though it's a good game. Okay, all kidding aside, Rare didn't just start DK64 when it was first announced. It was in development far ahead of any Dolphin announcement. Plus, you had to keep the series strong, because Rare always releases a DK platformer near the end of a system's life. It will probably be three-five years before we see Donkey Kong Dolphin. They couldn't let DK be reduced to "that gorilla in all those Mario multi-player games." And of course Donkey Kong Dolphin will be better, but then so will Donkey Kong Zebra and Donkey Kong Platypus. So there's no point on dwelling what's ahead, because if game companies did that, we'd NEVER get any new games.
Could Dino be the dino from Twelve Tales?
Ps. If anyone wants Rare to release the old Conker, please sign the petition at www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/cave/3540/index.htm
-Devin529
Well, Slush (who happens to be...me) is skeptical that Dino Planet is related to any DKU game. I remember a time we thought Jet Force Gemini might have Gobi in it, and that turned out to be a dissapointment (or relief, depending on how you look at it). The dino from Twelve Tales could be starring in it, but the truth is Rare has had the game under their heads for some time now (accoring to Rarenet, 'dem PD team arse suckers). So while they may throw in the Twelve Tales dino for laughs, the sudden appearance of a seemingly NEW render of Tricky from DKR is raising some eyebrows.
Ps. We appreciate the cause of releasing the old Conker (BFD is going to rock though). The problem is Bad Fur Day will alter the image of Conker games in the eyes of the public, so it wouldn't be ethical of Rare to release a "cute" Conker game after a mature one. Still, that's not meaning to discourage you in your efforts.
At the very begining of the game, Where do you get the bananas at?
-SJeaneale@aol.com
After leaving DK's Treehouse area by completing the Cranky barrel challenges, you'll be on the DK Isles. Run over those number pads to activate them, and then swim out to that green dome with the 1 pad. Go inside and talk to K. Lumsy. He'll break a boulder revealing the first banana. Use the 1 pad by pressing Z, and go to your right. There's the banana. Go behind it for level 1, Jungle Japes. Then go take a nap.
Little Luigi here with my game idea. I can tell you that idea wasn't bad,
not bad at all. Here is my game idea for a DK Game which was supposed to be
on my Nintendo site that never made it. Maybe later on I'll try and make it
(it's not html, I know that, it is just laziness).
Game Title: Super Kong Smashers (working title)
Console: Dolphin and/or N64
Story: Master Hand is at it again but this time he/she decides to challenge
the Donkey Kong Universe or else...
Donkey Kong accepts the challenge and tells everyone he needs his help.
Freinds from near and afar come, Banjo and Kazooie, Conker and Cranky, just
about everyone.
And there all about to have a little competition...
Characters and moves (because of the Dolphin's capabilities more characters
are made):
Donkey Kong-Donkey Kong is pretty much the same as he is in Super Smash
Bros.
Cranky Kong-You think the old guy can't fight? Remember in DKC he was pretty
tough with the cane and he's back with the cane and all.
Banjo-Banjo is the loveable bear but this time he tries to be tough.
Kazooie-One Word: Beak
Grunthilda- This witch is back to get revenge on Banjo and Kazooie. Complete
with broom.
Diddy Kong- He's small and very fast, so I guess pretty much the same
Dixie- Tiny wasn't tough enough so Dixie is back!
Kiddie-Kiddie is also back, he's grown up a little bit
Chunky- Kiddies bigger brother is slower but stronger
Lanky- This guy is the game's best jumper and uses his jumps as his moves
Conker- All this squirell needs is more violence, lol!
K. Rool- Maybe this time he can get revenge on DK???
Those are the regulars but there are bonus characters as if you didn't think
there were too much already...
Slinky
Regular Kremlin
Rambi
Funky Kong
Swanky Kong
Luigi (WHAT!? I can dream)
Weapons: You'll see some old ones and some new ones. But I assure you no
PokeBalls! There is a bannana which is used as a boomarang
Levels:
DK's Tree House- This level is exagerrated a bit because it is much bigger,
it's more like DK's Mansion
Barrel Factory- It's not the Barrel factory from the cartoon, but it is a
barrel factory. Don't worry, that Butler Kong isn't in it.
Kremlin Dungeon-Dark Level
The Beach- When the wave comes you must jump not to get knocked down.
Weapons may come ashore so keep a look-out.
Treetops-Self explantory
More under developement.
Hope you enjoyed my game idea. You and Slush should visit the Super Nintendo
Zone Message Board. I'm a regular there and I think you would like it. They
don't just talk about Super NES, they talk about everything Nintendo, visit
it at ZeldaGames.com/SuperNES
-Little Luigi
Wow, that's a pretty good idea. A DKU fighter in the knock-em-off style of Smash Bros. would be very fun indeed. Just a little criticsm.... You forgot Mumbo! Yes, Mumbo Jumbo, the character whom I (Chad) have been petitioning to be in Smash Bros. 2 for quite some time. Slush wants Diddy in SSB2, so this game would keep him sated. However, Our Friend wants Ted the Boatbuilder from Conker's Pocket Tales in SSB2, so he should be in this game, more specifically. Our Friend is an odd soul-within-a-camera indeed.
I was looking through GameFAQs.com for some info on the 1994 gameboy game
Donkey Kong (which you guys probably don't like since it's not DKU!!!) but
came upon something I found intresting. It was a page about a game called
Donkey Kong, Dinky, and Dixie which was supposedly released recently in
Japan. Then there is I guess an american version called Donkey Kong Country
(probably the working title over here) coming out 6/27/00. Could this be the
new DK Game Boy Game? and is it already out in Japan? And who the hell is
Dinky?
Just thought I would let you guys know. Here is the link:

-This is Little Luigi, reporting out.
Interesting info there. However, Dinky sounds like a typo or mistranslation of Diddy. Of course, if it was just released in Japan, we would have heard more about it by now (especially by Nintendo and Rare). They got the colorazation of DKL III over there, and there seems to be great confusion about what the "Donkey Kong" game for GBC really is. And Rare hardly ever releases games in Japan first. So it's just an odd story, crumpled up with lots of misinformation and dead ends.
Let me just get this out. I hated the original Mario Party. The board games took WAY too long to complete, and the mini-games that required rotating the control stick were poorly designed.
But, I reluctantly bought Mario Party 2, partially inspired from what you said about it. And I must admit. This is the best strategy/multiplayer game to date. The Mini-game Coaster was both fun and frustrating (more frustrating, I believe). This is earned by playing all of the minigames in the board games (it seems to take forever to get the last one).
Anyways, good luck with the game, because there is always something to do after you've completed something else.
-SirNick5@aol.com
Wow! Glad to hear you like it, and we partially had something to do with it. Yeah, the original MP is for required tastes only (the scar on my right hand is my badge of honor for that game), but MP2 is more user friendly and fun. Still, the board games take maybe even longer to finish in Mario Party 2, but there's more stuff happening to keep your attention.
I recently purchased the game and started playing it, I must say it is done very well, but... I am stuck. I know it is pretty embarrassing, because I am normally good at video games, but I can't past the 2nd banana!! I know I need the coconut shooter, and I am supposed to reach it in a a cave on the side of K. Rool's Fortress. So I simply walk up the walkway and hop into the cave and there I have it, right? Wrong, I know where the cave is but I can't get onto the walkway! I tried backflipping up to it to get more height but I still can't reach it. Am I missing something really obvious? Please give me a little insight on this.
-BriRentlover27@aol.com
Whoa! Hold on there. You're getting ahead of yourself. This is really funny actually, because it seems to be a common problem. You got the first banana, correct? Okay, well, behind the first banana is a cave you can enter. That's to the first world, where you will get the coconut shooter and everything. Many people don't seem to realize the cave behind there. As for reaching the walkway, you can't get on it yet. You'll have to wait until you beat the second world....
