I run a club on yahoo and one of my members asked a hard question. The question I have to ask you is if you can help. Where is the barrel blast mini game on world 4 level 7 on Donkey Kong Land 1? Please email me ASAP if you know the answer to this. (If you didnt know, whick I am sure you did, its for Gameboy.
-Tamus285

Chad: Right, sure. That's a good question. This one took me a long time to figure out too, back in the summer of 1995. Right before you get to the "G" letter, there is a fire barrel, a Krusha, and a TNT barrel. Most people use the TNT to kill the Krusha, but don't. Use Donkey to get rid of him. Take the TNT and throw it at the fire barrel. Then, go onto the ledge it was on, follow the path to the right, and there's the barrel. Hope this helps. Now go kick K. Rool's scaly arse.

Slush,
I think that I know why you call it Klubba's "Court" Music. I used to call it that as well, because it sounds like the theme from the O.J. Trial!
Speaking of all this music, which music themes do you like better from the following?:
1.) DKC, DKC2, or DKC3 (all main title screen themes)
2.) Mario Party Title Screen or Mario Party 2 Title Screen
3.) Banjo-Kazooie's Intro or DK's Rap (both the music and display)
4.) The Mario Kart Set-up Music or the Diddy Kong Racing Set-up Music (the music you listen to as you select the tracks)
5.) Finally, which Rare game (or DKU related) game's music do think is best?
My choices: 1.) DKC2 2.) Mario Party 3.) BK 4.) Mario Kart 5.) Goldeneye
By the way, you're doing a great job with your site, keep it up for as long as possible. But....please....could you take a (long) break from doing the never-ending DK story?
-SirNick5@AOL.com

P.S. After some time, I think FOX will decay until their Sweeps Theme Months will be FOXXX -- Your number one source for XXX PIX.

Slush: The O.J. Simpson Trial...I used to love that show! I was so mad when it went off the air, with that cheesy ending. Not guilty...pfft. I remember I used to collect all the action figures from that series...O.J. w/stabbing action, Nicole Brown, Ron Goldman, Kato w/mysterious attentions, and the White Bronco vehicle accessory. Memories...

Anyway, to answer your musical ponderies, 1.) DKC, 2.) Mario Party 2, 3.) The Monkey Rap, 4.) Diddy Kong Racing, 5.) In order: DKC2, DKC3, DKC, DK64, and B-K. And if FOX did change to FOXXX, then I'd be a happy camper.

It's not funny! I still don't believe that you made all these graphics with paint, it's impossible. I've tried. No can do. Anyway, why don't you guys have a message board or something? And I need proof that Banjo-Kazooie is part of the DKU.
-Germ Hamee

Chad: Please tell me that this is a joke. For my sanity's sake, please say that this letter is a joke. No? Ugh, I guess I'll actually have to answer it. Still don't think all our graphics are done in Paint? Well, here's your last contradiction. About the message board thing, which has been asked for repeatedly for over a half year, we're finally starting to sway toward getting one. Won't be any time soon, mind, but it's almost definite that we will eventually have one. And I'm not even going to dignify that last question with a response.

I found out the story to Conker's BFD. Here it is, Conker awakens one day, and realizes he's on another world. He must travel through different times, and worlds to reach home. Sorry, but I think I typed it in the shortest way possible. I got this info from the Ninetendo phone service. Their number is 1-800-255-3700. If your going to put this on your site, please put the address to my site. It's
-Devin529

Ps. The reason K. Rool is missing a tail on the show, is because he got in a fight with Bowser, and lost his tail. He then got a new mechanical one, that can come on, or off.

Pss. And why Diddy's eyes change color, and size is because he wears contacts

Chad: You again? I thought we dealt with you last year. Hmph. Anyway, I called that number, and indeed, that is the story. Good work. What I got was "Conker awakens one day to find his peaceful home replaced-literally- with World War II. He must travel through different times to save it, blah blah." It's got to be more in-depth than that, though. Oh, and I would have left your site's address on there, but I went to it, and saw the words "Congo Bongo Central". I was horrified, and closed the page immediately.

P.S. No, I think it's because his tail lives on both islands.

P.S.S. Now you're just being stupid. There are no AcuVue stores on Donkey Kong Island.

That's it it's now time to bring in the cannons. I will now release the Primeapes! Okay all Nintendo games take place in dimension N. Pokemon takes place (I Think) On Indigo Island what I guess is about 50 miles from dinosaur island(where Super Mario World takes place). And in dimension N fellow characters only fight Bad Boys (except in games like Super Mario land 2 or Super Smash Brothers). and by the way Ness Can beat DK any Day any Time so can Kirby, Captain Falcon, Luigi (usually) and Pikachu (57% of the time). Other Characters are good too.
-Dantv64dan@aol.com

P.S. DIgimon stinks!

Slush: Um...huh? Apparently you don't know of all the Mario backhistory from the 1980's (how many gamers today know that the man came from Brooklyn and didn't arrive in the Mushroom Kingdom until Super Mario Bros., and that the Mushroom Kingdom is in another dimension? That's what makes our whole DK TimeVine click!). And that's a load of garbage. The good guys don't all have to get along. And Kirby? Captain Falcon? Don't make me laugh. Despite your Digimon comment, this letter ALMOST deserves a negative Mr. Mooney award, but another letter is more deserving of a good Mr. Mooney award. Sorry your incompetence didn't pay off.

Hi everybody!
"Hi Dr.Nick!"
Wait,I'm not Dr.Nick! What are you talking about?RAGH!*throws an orange into the crowds.*

Anyway, thanks for the Mr.Mooney award.Yes,the Circus Peanuts of Justice move IS in the game I made up.On a right-now note,I have not one,not two,not thr-well,actually,I'm not sure about how many things I'm gonna talk about right now in this letter.Read on.

1.New episodes,I repeat, new episodes of the craptacular DKC cartoon---and believe it or not,it's less craptacular than usual. This DK fan didn't get much chance to scope out the new eps,but I have compiled some data from the episodes I did wash,er,watch- -They changed the graphics(DK looks shiny, the krems scalier than ever.) -There are some episodes that don't revolve around the Crystal Coconut or picnics!!!!

2.This may interest you.For the talent show at my school,I got in.My act? This may make you a little misty-eyed,but at the show,I am going to do a solo recreation of the MONKEY RAP seen off of DK64!Yes,it's true!I do everything in it-including the actions(I had to change a few things though, like replacing Hell with Heck and taking out the parts that talk about DK's coconut gun and the shooting of Zingers.)I even got a DK tie to go along with it,with the DK on it!(not on the back with the backwards one,sadly-my mom said there was no point.Sigh.)I do the act this Thursday after school in front of the parents(May the 4th.)Also,yes,I am an 11-year old boy.Get over it.

3.Work on DK64:The Series has begun!I plan on getting the script for Episode 1(name pending, looking for ideas for a plot for said ep)by the 13th.Give me suggestions in the reply for this ep,and I'll send the script to you two(Chad and Slush;I won't forgive Our Friend for killing Evil Amobeoa.).And yes,I am going to do a Pokémon crossover AND a Digimon crossover.I'm trying to make everyone happy, after all.:)But don't worry-crossovers are few and far bewteen and only last usually 4 consectuative episodes.

4.I'm planning on doing a series of other game ideas that take place 10 years after my Donkey Kong:The Final Battle game.I'm not spilling the beans yet,but I'll tell you this-Kiddy is the main character and Diddy gets killed by the main villian who I'm not revealing yet.

5.One last thing before I sign off for this letters edition-I'd like to introduce you to my best friend, equivalent to Our Friend and co-webmaster on the soon to be Sean King's Donkey Kong Jungle,Mr.Invisible Man.Say hello,Mr.Invisible Man!
Mr.IM(who all you can see is a pair of floating eyes)=Hello.
Well, that's all for this letter.Until next time,so long and watch where ya step!
-Sean King-Worships Donkey Kong and Mega Man like they're relatives of the MOONMAN.

P.S.,you into the Mega Man/X series? Not (It's not)MegaMan Legends.I've been finding myself liking the MMU as much as the DKU recently.I'm gonna keep them as equals right now though.

Chad: You know, Sean, a "creative" intro is not required for every letter you send. Anyway, glad to hear about Circus Peanuts of Justice. Now moving to the next Letter.... oh, wait. There's more? Wow, glad you happened to announce it.

1. I rather like the numbered question format. Thankee. Your comment seems to contradict one of Slush's Letters which states that it was taken off the air. I don't care if the Kremlings are scalier, and Donkey Kong is NOT permamently wet. He was shiny enough the first few wastes-of-thirty-minutes of that show. Some episodes don't involve picnics? YOU LIE!

2. Have you no shame? To think of the idiocy of parading in front of your peers singing that incessant rap....... without the backwards DK? You need to beat your mom over the head until she passes out, then sew it on yourself. Other than that, great idea! Just be sure to cut your underpants before you do the show, and bring a shower cap with you that day. You'll be thankful you did.

3. Hey. Tomorrow's the thirteenth. Well, since I wasn't very happy about the idea of another TV Show, I will decline from suggesting a name. Hey, Evil Amoeba was asking for it. It was a life or death situation for Our Friend, and luckily, he had a blood-shooting cannon which congealed Evil Amoeba to death. Now let us never speak of this again. Oh, and if you want to make everyone happy, why don't you just leave Pokemon and Digimon BOTH out of the show? They don't belong in a DK series anyway.

4. Glad to see Kiddy in the limelight, but you had better have a damned good excuse for killing off Diddy.

5. Hee hee hee. No site in their right mind would have a seemingly inanimate thing which happens to be animate as a staff member! Oh, wait...

Thanks for the advice. I have started staring at the ground in paranoia, after your impeccable warning. Good call!

P.S. No.

Okay No pokemon this time just........ My Electrodes and Voltorbs will self-destruct and explode on you any second. so I have my one of a kind anime lover protection sheild. 5......4.........3..........2..........1...........BOOM! Cool i never saw a flying monkey with a cane and a beard and a bald head with a butt in fire before cool! I also see the only kong that survived was diddy, he's my favorite Kong.
-Dantv64dan@aol.com

Slush: Hey spanky, here's a picture of that giant rat thing from the B-T screenshots crapping Pikachu out of a hole in his pants. These anime lovers are disturbed (if you can call Pokemon true "anime.")

Firstly, the updates page has gone fruity. Secondly, there's three new B-T pictures on Rareware's home page!! Eeeehh!!
-Aussie Ben

Chad: Why does Slush get praise-filled Letters from you, but I get "this page sucks" letters? Oh, well. Yes, well, those B-T shots are old news by now. Having fun at E3, are you? Lucky bastard.

Good to hear DK will be in Mario Tennis. I still think Waluigi has a silly name and I still think he sucks. He sucks but it's good to see that he will be bringing more attention to Luigi (the real luigi, I mean the CHARACTER luigi). Any word on any other characters appearing in the game? I guessI would know though since I visit gaming sites too. BTW, IGN RULES! You guys are okay, ok, you guys rule too!

And as for your streak ending in Daily updates, AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....

Umm, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to laugh and I don't know why I keep using Capslock. Now, I must get going and find Little Waluigi!
-Little Luigi

Slush: You get more insane as the weeks go by, you know that Little Luigi? Anyway, we haven't heard any word about other characters in Mario Tennis, but we're holding out for Diddy (at least I am). IGN is better than Ninten"We thought the Japanese DKL III was DKC for Game Boy Color"Dorks and Gun Toting Retro Net. Thanks for the compliment about us ruling...I think....and don't laugh about our streak ending. It was a very sad moment, and it meant you couldn't enjoy our ramblings for one whole day....oh, I get it now.

Hey Chad! I just read The Accounts; very amusing. They're my favorite part of the site. Well... besides the Evil Amoeba/Unibrow Da Ghetto fight. That was even more hilarious. You did a wonderful job with it.

You mentioned in The Accounts that you did some graphic design work. Congratulations!!!! So, where do I go to see your creations? I'm curious!

I'm also interested in the DKU fanfic you and Slush are writing. I've been busy and haven't had a chance to read it yet, but I'm dying to see how insane it is.

Anyway, I think you're doing a lovely job with the site, and I very much enjoy checking in to see what you and Slush have come up with.
-Alex

Chad: Wow, you actually like Accounts? I thought nobody read them, and they're your favorite part of the bloody site? Wow, that's....... wow! Thanks! And Our Friend should be credited for the Evil Amoeba/Unibrow Da Ghetto fight. He won it, after all. Now let us never speak of this again. My graphical crap can be seen at www.jtan.com. I did that title bar thing with the on-mouse-over buttons and stuff. Our fanfic is quite insane. In case you haven't read it by now, there is a Colossus Eventicus or something, and lots of aliens. Well, go read it after you finish with Letters. Thanks for those last compliments. It's nice to see a letter ended on a high note, instead of some derogatory remark. (coughAussie Bencough)

Yo, boys, it's Behonkiss, writer of that bloody big rant on the DKC show. Thankfully, I checked my TV guide. The show's been cancelled! YAAAHHH!!! That's wonderful news, as now we won't have to put up with a pale imitation of the DKU. Anyway, on to my main topic...

Well, I, like anyone, am very surprised at what Bad Fur Day is like. However, I would be much more excited if it was not a mature game. Rare made a HUGE mistake by making a BK/DK64-style game with cute animals and stuffing it full of raunch. This will undoubtedly make the game appeal to younger players who are curious to play it. I myself am around 13, and my parents are quite strict about the games, movies and tv shows I view. It will undiubtedly take me months of begging to even be able to rent BFD, which is a shame since it will undoubtedly be fantastic. Rare should have kept Conker as it is and made a Mature game that appeals to Mature players only(Perfect Dark, anyone?). While I will probably eventually play BFD, I may never own it, and that is a mistake on Rare's part.
-Behonkiss(That's still American for arse!)

Slush: Well, you bring up some interesting points. But Nintendo has promised to have a "creative" marketing campaign that won't be mainstream like DK64 was that won't market it to younger gamers. We're excited about the change as we always joked how Conker was going to be one of the most violent games ever made...and then our prophecy came true. We understand where you're coming from though, as if we were too young to play it, we'd be distressed too. It's really unfair to younger fans that wanted to get it to complete their collection, but then it's a bonus for the older players. We feel sorry for you man, but as said earlier, this brought up some interesting points (that have been brought up before in Letters, but never as well) so we feel it deserves the Mr. Mooney Award (it's good this time, don't worry). Ye-us! Oh, and now that the DKC show is off my television machine, when will the hurting stop? Or have I been permanently poisoned by it?

In your FAQ it says:
"we are currently looking into the possibilites for the best messageboard with the easiest navigation. Stay tuned."
Is this just something to stop making people asking about it or are you really looking into it?
In fact, you said you wouldn't want to moderate all of us but I'll be the first (I think) to say I would gladly moderate a DK Jungle Vine Message Board.
Should I "stay tuned"?
Onto a different topic, I'm playing Excitebike 64 right now and look forward to playing Perfect Dark later this month. I just wished DKU games would be coming out soon. Maybe Rare will suprise us with yet another DKU game before E3 is over, although I highly doubt it.
-Little Luigi, Ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom

P.S. I have a clay animation film under production called Little Luigi's Revenge. I haven't put any DKU cameos in yet but I haven't even made a script. It will be available on the internet.

Chad: Aww, you figured us out. We thought that if we promised a message board and even went as far as to put it on the FAQ, you'd just stop asking. Gee, you're too good for us. In all seriousness, though, we are looking into one, and if anyone moderates it, it will be the two of us. Sorry. Oh, I very much doubt the DKU game comment too. Rare is not full of magical game-creating elves. Or....is it?

P.S. Funny you should say that, as I just finished two short stop-motion films featuring my DKU action figures. You don't know joy until you've see Diddy run over Funky in an airplane.

Hey there DK Vine Denziens,

Just a quick note to say that I'm leaving for the airport VERY soon... it's 8:13am now, but my plane doesn't leave until 11:00am - yet those airport maniacs want us to be there two hours before....

Anyway, I'll be checking out E3 and I'll also be writing up info on the games and stuff... It's all going to my work's site (gameboy.s-one.net.sg) so check out their news and their newsflash segments once I start reporting. Take it easy, and I'll try to bash the gun-toters with my camera if I see them... :-D
Cheers,
-Aussie Ben

Chad: Well, this is a nice letter. You have redeemed your status in my eyes as one of the top contributors to the site. Oh, and bash 'em one for me too, mate!

Dear Dkvine,
I have been hearing the news of the upcoming Dinosaur Planet. This game is sweet. Just hearing the music makes me want to run through the Serengeti. People need to cut the Pokemon crap and join the lesion of Rare. They amazed us with DK64 graphics, scared the hell out of us with Jet Force Gemini, Made us wonder with news od Conker's BFD, Made us hope for connection between DK64 and DKC, Make us jump for joy with the news of B-T, And now we drool over the concept drawings and music od DINOSAUR PLANET.
I can't wait, I can't wait. Do you have any idea of the release dates of Conker's BFD, Banjo-Twooie, Donkey Kong Country, or Dinosaur Planet.
From your devoted Reader,
-Jeremy Andrews

P.S. Chad I know I will get punched for this but were your and Slushs most embarassing moments. Pow, Ow! Dang it Chad.

Chad: Ah... well... this was a fairly self-explanatory letter. So I'll get to the questions at the end. Conker will be released on December 4th, Banjo-TOOIE will be on August 28, same day as Donkey Kong Country. We have yet to get a release date other than "Quarter One, 2001" for Dinosaur Planet.

P.S. Umm.... Yes, I punched you! Hwa-hah.......! No, playing along didn't help, I'm still confused. Okay, most embarassing moment? Well, mine took place in the hellhole-of-a-year known as Seventh Grade. Ugh. Anyway, there was a field trip to the museum and zoo. It had just rained, and being the excited youth I was, I ran, slipped, and was covered in mud the entire day, in front of the whole student body. While it kept flies off me at the elephant house and restroom, it just wasn't a fair tradeoff.
Slush: One time long ago in gym class when I was out on the track, about five guys started prancing around me yelling CENSORED. People thought that was funny. Then they hit me.
