Well I'll be damned. If it isn't Halloween! Why, today is perhaps the greatest day ever to dress up as an evil being and tick off the local church anti-Halloween sympathizers! Well, I did that (scared several little children, made a nun cry) and now here's a joint Chad/Slush Feature we like to call Top Ten DKU Fearbringers 2: Electric Bugaloo. Now don't wet the bed, you little candy gobblers! We'd also like to bring your attention to RareOps, the brand-new site headed up by the same chuds who brought you NintenDonkey Kong 64. Soak yourself in it.

You never can get enough Banjo-Tooie Screenshots, can you? I enjoy 'em all. I can only imagine what posting abundant GAMECUBE screenshots will be like. Quite exhausting, I should think. Oh, and Nintendo of America sent out these lovely box art things to the media, and you can see bigger versions by clicking them. The DKC box looks quite finalized, but I incredibly doubt the Banjo-Tooie box art will end up looking like that. DKU games almost always have a multitude of characters on the box, not just three, as seen here. Enjoy, you cute little nihilists.

Heh. I just hate it when my AceFTP goes bonkers right before updating time. Oh well. I typed out my Banjo-Tooie Editor Impressions tonight. Hopefully you'll enjoy them better than my AceFTP did. If you don't, then you too may freeze into a comatose state.

Here's a biography of one of the nameless Donkey Kong 64 blokes who have been given second-rate names by dkvine staff: Booker is here!

A big, sexy Artwork, just for you. And Halloween's coming up. But that's only slightly irrelevant.

Sweet sassy molassy, do we have an extra crispy rumor for you tonight, stolen directly from the pages of PlanetN2000. It seems that a fourth Mario Party 4 could be in the works for GAMECUBE (call it Mario Party GAMECUBE or Mario Party 4, as it's just rumored right now). The kicker is, it would be the first GAMECUBE game to utilize the modem feature! Hot dog!

Chad: Right, I'm cutting in to deliver even more (and much bigger) news. Slush has already left for the eve, otherwise I would have had him just rewrite his update. Here it goes... according to IGN64, Conker's Bad Fur Day has been delayed to March 5, 2001. Sure, it's a few months extra, but we'll probably be busy with Mario Party 3 and Color Tennis GB up until then, so it's fine. Here's the really astounding news. It's rumoured that Rare's utterly incredible Dinosaur Planet will cease production on Nintendo 64 (justifying the complete lack of news for several months), and the game will be updated to a GAMECUBE version! While even as a launch title it would bring a hefty delay, I think it would be worth it for the graphical superiority GAMECUBE offers. OH YES.

I got Zelda 6 today. THREE DAYS EARLY! Wow! Anyway, here's a consequental crap update, in the form of a new Artwork. But it's actually pretty good. And animated at no extra cost.

10/23/00
Well, tonight all we have is a large crappy Artwork. I hope you enjoy it!

What's this on the horizon? Monday.

.........cough.

Anyway, we've acquired some new Mario Party 3 Screenshots, so you might do yourself some good and check them out. Fareworld.

Today I got myself a new truck and drove that sucker up and down my neighbor's yards. They shot at me, and we had an ever so merry time. Here's some Color Tennis GB shots. Won't that be fun? Oh, and did you know that Nintendo of America's testing grounds is named the Treehouse because DKC was the first game they worked on? Just another (or the fifteenth) of SIRSLUSH2'S ANNOYING DKU FACTS THAT YOU WANT TO DIE IN A HURRY.

Straight from Rarewhere, here are some new, renderiffic, and ultimately shiny Donkey Kong 64 Promotional Renders. Bask in their furry glory. Just don't get suffocated in it.

Today, we have some Banjo-Tooie news/rumors from NintenHobo, who are back after their downtime and ready for us to mooch off them without their knowledge. Reilly Brennan, a Nintendo press representative, told them that the cartridge won't be a lock on. Instead, he claims, Banjo-Tooie will already have all the secrets programmed into it (meaning you won't even need B-K). We ask the all important "HUH?" Why would Rare and Nintendo go this dissapointing route? We called Nintendo for confirmation, but they acted clueless upon questioning (probably because we're just a fan site without credibility, even though we told them we thought they were pretty). Who knows where the story will go with this one fans, but we'll keep you posted. We have no lives, remember?

The lovable blokes of IGN Pocket have unleashed a tidbit if Mario Kart Advance news. While we've long known that Game Boy Advance has the capabilities of only requiring one cartridge during link multiplay, we also knew that this was a feature that had to be pre-programmed into the game, and was not automatic. Well, Mario Kart Advance will in fact support this feature, so don't worry if your next-door neighbor only buys Napoleon upon launch next July. You can still go head-to-head using just your copy of Mario Kart Advance.

Back to our old tricks again, huh? Damn straight. Bask in the warm glow of an apparently offensive Artwork. Hey, we don't write these things!

ZDNet's GameSpot (www.videogames.com) has written up a quite lengthy profile on everyone's favorite ape, Koko the sign-language gorilla. Their article chronicles everything from her bout with domestication, to the death of her kitten Allball. Er.. no, that's not right. The article, entitled The History of Donkey Kong, which we had a credited hand in making (e.g. them using our labourously scanned renders), is all about Donkey Kong and Co. Before you send us angry e-mails, we know they wrote a ton of inaccuracies, most of which were pulled out of their arse, spur-of-the-moment. For example, Donkey Kong's name is not "Donky Kong", our site's name is not "Donkey Kong Jungle Vine", Candy Kong is not an expert of "Kong-Fu", and Donkey Kong Country (GBC) is not a port of Donkey Kong Country 2. But of course, believe every unresearched word of theirs. After all, they're a bigger site than us. *sigh*

Oh, and thanks for the link, GameSpot.

There's a cat in the kettle at the Pi-King Moon, the place that I eat everyday at noon. Drawing the weekend to a close, here's some top-notch Color Tennis GB news! In addition to Baby Mario and Luigi, Donkey Kong (our version, not the crappy Miyamoto one) will be playable! Furthermore, as the screenshot at right shows, he has his very own minigame within the game! Hoo-hah!

See Our Friend and I update the Drones List with pictures for the DK64 bunch. See my C-Up button worn to a plastic mush.

10/13/00
Hey, what do you know? It's Friday! To celebrate the onslaught of the weekend, we made Our Friend do all the work. Don't worry, we didn't pay him a dime. He's taken pictures of some Mario Party and Super Smash Bros. drones (yes, even Pokemon ones), and we've got them for you in the Drones List.

At least Tooty won't ruin your golf game. I could do it, but I'll just let Coily the Spring Sprite handle our Banjo-Tooie news tonight.

Coily: Nooooooo.... Tooty! Ah, hee hee hee hee hee!

beoo, boo

I have to make tonight's update real quick. Our Friend went and got for us some more Drones Pictures, finishing off most of the B-K set, and we also have some corporate news that somewhat effects the DKU. Hudson Soft, the maker of the Mario Party games, is merging with Infogrames...the same company whose CEO (Bruno Bonnel) was outspoken about Conker's Bad Fur Day in Newsweek. To top it off, they're French. The new company will be creatively called Infogrames Hudson. Oh, poopie. Welcome to the DKU family of developers, Infogrames. Bite me while you're at it.

I got a promotional Banjo-Tooie / Zelda 6 video today. So I lugged the VCR to the computer, hooked it up, and let Our Friend snag four new Banjo-Tooie Screenshots for you. Bask in their slightly grainy splendor.

Yeah, we're S.O.L. (and you know what means!) when it comes to update ideas tonight, so we'll stick it to you with a Sprout Bio. Who's sprout? Even I'm not sure, but he's one of the nameless DK64 schlubs who we attached a word to so we could call them something. This is his story.

What would you say if we gave you two new features in a row? Well, frankly, I don't care what you would say, because we're doing it anyway. Here's the newest drivel to pour out of my brain, entitled The Wario Brothers: Hitler's Lackeys? So read it, reread it, and then bask in the ironic humor of it all. And in case you're wondering what's wrong with the Features index page, we put all the newer features at the top so they'd be accessable without having to go through the backbreaking labor of scrolling down.

Tonight, sample from our buffet table of love Belcha: A Tribute (a new Feature) and a brand new edition of Letters. Oh, and did you know that Eyrie the eagle from Banjo-Kazooie fame got his name from part of the Latin name for eagle? Just another (or the fourteenth, and season premiere) of SIRSLUSH2'S ANNOYING DKU FACTS THAT YOU WANT TO DIE IN A HURRY.

Accounts may have served as a bit of a quality rehab for us, because here's our first coherent update in ages: My Mario Tennis Review. And it's actually not as glowing as other sites', despite our usual semi-biased demeanor. That's right, I open a can of Whoop-Ass on Camelot's development team. Or maybe I don't. Click to find out! Ah, the pressuring joys of the cliffhanger update.

Shaman of the Opera Right, we're ditching our Accounts duty once again. Sorry. Well, no, I'm not sorry. Elated would probably be a better description of my current disposition. Anyway, here's some Banjo-Tooie news to tide you over until the crap-fest known as Accounts, tomorrow. We promise. Anyway, Banjo-Tooie, despite not being released, has already been nominated for a British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) award! We're pushing for it to win, but there's likely to be some stiff competition from the PSX2 games, as well as Rare's own Perfect Dark. Let's hope the upcoming bear-and-bird gem will pull through, shall we?

''And then the drunk guy said, I can't help being an idiot...I'm Canadian!'' Well, we're back after a day of hiatus! Why didn't we update last night? Quite frankly, we're going to take the standard internet approach and say we were too busy yesterday. Honestly, our personal lives prevented from doing Accounts HTML last night, and tonight as well. Hopepfully we'll get Accounts up tomorrow, but tonight we have a little bit of...Banjo-Tooie Player's Guide news. Oh, calm down. Normally, Nintendo released a Player's Guide a week or two after the actual game comes out. However, I got a subscription notice from Nintendo Power this afternoon, and they offer a free B-T Player's Guide that's avalaible on 11/13/00. However, Nintendo's website claims it's going to be released on 11/6/00. So what's the verdict? It appears it's going to be released early, sending spoilers out of the game before it even comes out. What date it does come out is up in the air though. See you tomorrow.

Ooo. A new month. Nice. Well, the new month demands a fresh Updates page. September can be found in the Update Archives, as linked below. And we're going to dodge Accounts for the second month in a row and give you six new Banjo-Tooie Screenshots instead. Accounts tomorrow (unless there's news or something better). Enjoy!
