Hello fellow Americans, Slush here! I just got back from watching a hillarious show on my NTSC television, which as we all know, is WAY better than the PAL TVs. Tonight Chad put up his Donkey Kong Country First Impressions, and I think their horrable, but you can look for yourself.

I really hate when Slush mocks me when ghostwriting. The only thing I can mock him for is horrific spelling. Hillarious, anyone? Anyway, NintendoWeb has news on half of the Mario Party 3 minigames, translated from Nintendo's Japan website. We felt that if we made our own page, all we could do was rephrase what they said, so you're better off learning about minigames from the source. Enjoy!

Holy mother clucking pile of poo, do we have some sweet info tonight. Sweet? SWEET? You betcha' believe it's sweet, you chuds. First off, some Dinosaur Planet news that was said to be pretty much our entire update had something not come across the wire at the last minute. Dinosaur Planet, according to Nintenhobo, is still very much headed to the Nintendo 64 and any rumors of it being GAMECUBE bound hold no merits at the moment. That's number one. Hold on to your panties for number two...

Banjo-Tooie and the Banjo-Kazooie connection. Crap? Not so fast there, bucko! The internet is exploding, as minutes ago the news came in over the wires and hotlines and assorted gizmos that the Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie connection is still "very much in the game," according to Rare. Apparently, you have to get everything in Banjo-Tooie before they spill the beans in the game about how everything works. This is huge news folks, and it just goes to show you that we shouldn't have doubted Rare so quickly. Man, I've gotsta hurry up and beat Banjo-Tooie!

Blimey! Tonight we have an Artwork x 3. Cheerio, I'm off to the fox hunt to converse with the Queen Mum! Please don't hold my British tongue (toungue?) against me, you blokes. I may have been born (bourn?) in the States, but I have blue blood. Tea 'N Crumpets, fish 'N chips... arse... I watch BBC... I buried Paul...

Note: In no way is this Slush covering for Chad. Despite what Mr. McCanna claims, he really does talk like this. We repeat, in no way is this Slush covering for Chad.

11/26/00
Well. It seems that Chad has finally come out with his Donkey Kong Country Editor Impressions. Just a week late, Chad. Just a week late...

11/25/00
Tonight we've got but one update for you. A brand new interactive feature, titled Pantswatch. Give it a good sniff, but be warned that the content might be considered spoiler material, but only by hardcore B-T players who haven't progressed very far. And by the way, whenever you see a stereotypically British update written by "me" (such as 11/23), it's more than likely a ghostwriting Slush ridiculing me for using British spelling. Don't hold it against him, though. He's a top-bloke at heart. Right, I'm off, guv.
Update by Chad.

11/24/00
I'm tired. But we have the finished Banjo-Tooie Story So Far, updated General Game Info, slightly updated FAQ, and two new GOOD Artworks (both based off of popular movies). Check them all out, okay? Sleep, I must have.
Update by Slush.

11/23/00
Cheerio, and a pleasant Thanksgiving tooie you. I've been playing the plum pudding out of Banjo-Tooie, and I can barely feel above my waist (not to mention my eyes are bloodshot from staring at the wonderous colours for so long). So luckily I ran into that chap Slush for a brief minute tonight and he said he had done his Banjo-Tooie First Impressions. Now I'm going off to play Banjo-Tooie some more. Good night, blokes.
Update by Chad.

11/22/00
Oh, happy boithday to me. I finally managed to pick up B-T today, and I'm currently engrossed in it. A helpful Thanksgiving spoonful of my Impressions will be up tomorrow, but here is Mr. I'm Having Too Much Fun To Do My Update (and Mr. I Won Question Number 6 In Rarewhere's B-T Contest) Banjo-Tooie First Impressions. Lord knows when the DKC EDITOR Impressions will be up, but I'm done promising things. We'll just throw that concept in the pile marked "Accounts and Monkeypiece Theater." Enjoy!
Update by Slush.

11/21/00
This just in: Banjo-Tooie is brilliant!
It's arrived in stores all across North America today, so rush and out and get it! My local retailer had yet to get Donkey Kong Country in, but I'm looking for it tomorrow. The updates Slush promised will have to be delayed until tomorrow, because I'm simply having too much fun shooting Puftups as a submarine to write anything.
Update by Chad.

11/20/00
I'm trying to turn my computer monitor to get the full images to appear, but it's not working! Today is the big day. Well, tomorrow is more like it. Those two bastard childs, Banjo-Tooie and Donkey Kong Country have shipped. We expect them in tomorrow. Expect one last money shot tomorrow, when Chad will put up his DKC Editor Impressions, and (I'm assuming) Banjo-Tooie First Impressions. I won't get the game until Wednesday, so you can expect my FI then (as for DKC, I may not get that until later on, maybe in December...Chad won't begin playing DKC until he's fufilled all of B-T's desires). So stay tuned for all the Banjo-Tooie and Donkey Kong Country stuff you can handle over the next few days. Oh, and for no reason at all, here's some Donkey Kong Land III Time Trial Times. Not really related to the subject, but oh well!
Update by Slush.

11/19/00
Though the date says otherwise, I'm typing this at 1:56 AM on Banjo-Tooie and Donkey Kong Country's simultaneous ship-date. But since I haven't gone to sleep and awoken yet, it will herein be referred to as "tomorrow". Well, one day left. Tomorrow those of us with competent retailers will finally get to have Banjo-Tooie and DKC all their own. And to celebrate, here's the promised massive update. Slush starts things off strong with his Mario Tennis First Impressions and Donkey Kong Country Editor Impressions, and I round it off with my Banjo-Tooie Editor Impressions and the Banjo-Tooie Worlds Checklist. If I weren't a chronic insomniac, I'd wish you a mutual goodnight!
Update by Chad.

11/18/00
We're getting closer and closer to the North American release dates (well, at least the United States and Canada...I'm much too pathetic right now to check for Mexico and Puerto Rico), and the staff at the Vine is getting pretty excited. Chad went to bed early, Our Friend microwaved some rice pudding, and I updated the TimeVine. Okay, so maybe these aren't exactly the BEST things to do on the Saturday before B-T and DKC, but rest assured we'll have a surge of stuff tomorrow. We're talking more checklists, Editor Impressions, etc. It's going to be quite the box social. By the way, did you happen to know that the character of Diddy Kong wears a shirt? Just another (or the sixteenth) of SIRSLUSH2'S ANNOYING DKU FACTS THAT YOU WANT TO DIE IN A HURRY.
Update by Slush.

11/17/00
We actually kept a promise? Ladies and gentlemen, Hell has just frozen over. For Banjo-Tooie, we've got a brand-spanking-new Known Character List, as well as an insanely thorough Bad Guys Checklist. But wait, there's more. As you probably already know, Rarewhere has three new MP3s available for download. Click that link if you want them, but we thought we'd do Loveday one better. Here are four - count 'em - four dkvine internet exclusive Banjo-Tooie MP3 files, including the Dinosaur World and Jolly Roger's Lagoon, among others. As if that weren't enough, NDK64 Guy of RareOps fame told me today that his local (Canadian) Toys 'R' Us expected Banjo-Tooie in today, but didn't get it due to a late shipment. Suffice it to say, tomorrow I'll be journeying to my local TRU with high hopes, and I suggest you do the same (don't get your hopes up though).

11/16/00
So they're counting the pregnant CHADs now? I never knew McCanna had a vagina. Chad's still feeling sick, I'm feeling gypped about this secret explanation, Our Friend is feeling horny (well, so am I), and that leaves us with one choice for tonight's update. You best get over to IGN64 for new screenshots and movies of Banjo-Tooie. Tomorrow night expect some serious original content, including lots of updated and new Banjo-Tooie checklists. Wait, the last time(s) I promised an update they never came to fruitation. Well, we're updating tomorrow, but with what? My promised update? Maybe we'll just program little eggs and stick them up your ass in grey polygonal cartridges instead. Won't that be fun.

Was all that GameShark whining worthless? Here is what we have for an update tonight. it is some news written by slus. Sorry that the typos, I am kind if ill right now with a fever and can not think very well because I have a headache.

Slush: Uh huh. Anyway, IGN64 is our source for ripping off again today. It seems they found the Ice Key in Banjo-Tooie. Programmed into Banjo-Tooie, that is. So is this long rumored solution the dissapointing answer to our debates on how to get the secrets? You mean you can't even GET the secrets in B-K, but have to get them in B-T? Okay, so it's not quite confirmed that this is the answer yet (IGN isn't done with the game), but it's looking that way. Check them out for the whole story, and a movie. Also, feel free to discuss this latest turn of events in the Spinoff Game Discussion forum of our Bulletin Board.

Isn't it that kid from Jerry McGuire?. The excitement is starting to reach a fever pitch as we're smack dab on the verge of the "DKU Months" of late-November through the month of December. Banjo-Tooie and Donkey Kong Country news is starting to come out the whazoo, and IGN64 has decided to update with a slew of new B-T movies. Many contain spoilers, so we should caution you before you visit. Since we're so close to the game, does it really matter finding out much beforehand now? I only bothered to check one movie out, and saw this lovely image. This is a relative of Bottles (one of his children perhaps) holding a Donkey Kong doll. It should also be said that there is a Jet Force Gemini poster in the room as well. Rare loves those Easter Eggs!

That last step is a doozy. Eight days and counting until Banjo-Tooie and Donkey Kong Country make their way to the states. Wonderful. Today, I spied the Banjo-Tooie commercial on TV, while Slush saw the DKC one. Here's a quick synopsis of each. In the Banjo-Tooie commercial, we see Banjo getting ready to skydive out of an airplane. The instructor says, "Parachute!" but Banjo waves him off and jumps. On his way down, he says, "Kazooie? KAZOOIE?!?" and continues to fall. On the ground, we see Kazooie sunbathing, as Banjo completes his fall in the background, to a sickening thud. Overall, it was quite good, and definitely one of Nintendo's best as of late. There's just something hilarious about a grown man in a bear costume plummeting to his death. In the considerably more pitiful Donkey Kong Country commercial, we see a rendered Donkey, Diddy, and Rambi chasing around a Klump and Krusha. It should be noted, though, that the 3-D models used for Diddy, Klump, and Krusha were the ones from the inaccurate farce-of-a-TV-show, "Donkey Kong Country: The Series". Can't win 'em all, I suppose.

I took Chad's advice and reserved Banjo-Tooie today. There were about fifty reservation tickets left. They were in a giant nipplelicious cardboard display though. So anyway, we've got a buttload of Donkey Kong Country exclusive she-et tonight, thanks to the Australian drunk. So let me just direct you over to Aussie Ben's DKC/DKC Comparison. He put more work into it than we have the entire site for the last three months.
Update by Slush.

11/11/00
Leave it to Slush to promise an update which is solely dependant on several hours of my free time for completion. Ah, well. He wrote an excellent script for the next Monkeypiece Theater, but it won't likely be showing up this weekend as promised. Instead, we've been alloted several Donkey Kong Country MP3 files by a one Mr. Ben Kosmina, who happens to already own the game. Tomorrow we'll continue with the pre-American-release Donkey Kong Country (Game Boy Color) info. Oh, and if you haven't already, run out and reserve Banjo-Tooie soon. I got the very last reserve ticket at my local retailer this evening.
Update by Chad.

Today: Slightly updated Big 'Ol Blah Blah Blah (cowers).
Tomorrow: New Monkeypiece Theater.

11/09/00
Donkey Kong Country for Game Boy Color is released today! Or, at least, in the seasonally inverted continent of Australia. Thanks to a tipoff from Aussie Ben, we can confirm that the game has so far popped up in such stores as K-mart and Video Gameplay. It was originally slated for a November 13 release in Australia, so this early availability is a bit of a surprise. We'll have a nice comparison between it and its SNES counterpart in the coming days. And before I sign off, I'd just like to say that it's a bit humbling not to be the first country to get a new Rare game. I can't imagine having to go through this for all the games. For the sake of our Aussie readers, let's hope Nintendo decides to have worldwide software launches on the next-gen systems.

Chaos...in...America. While us yankees still don't know who our next president is thanks to F'N Florida and their recount, we've kind of got swept up in the political coverage. So tonight we're taking the easy way out and pulling out an Artwork from our mailbag.
Update by Slush.

I lose all faith in the American election system when the deciding state's votes are held back from announcement so the news stations can haul in ratings while people stare blankly at unmoving numbers on their TV screens. It truly is a sad state of affairs. And on that cheery note, here are three additions to our handy dandy Banjo-Tooie High-Res Screenshot Wallpaper page!
Update by Chad.

11/06/00
Not much tonight other than three new additions to the Banjo-Tooie Screenshot Analysis. Getting closer, heh. It sure is. Now, I'd like to vent something real quick. Tomorrow here in the United States it's Election Day. The two main canidates for president are...poor choices. One is a cold, calculated machine. The other is a drunk, dyslexic moron. So if you're 18 and registered, I implore you to vote...for Nader. Hey, things could be worse. We could be making "President Bush" jokes for 4 years.

NADER/LADUKE 2000! WE'RE GOING ALL THE WAY TO WASHINGTON, BAY-BEE!
Update by Slush.

11/05/00
Seven new Screenshots for the ever-nearing Banjo-Tooie await you tonight. And these are good, cinema screenshots, not those generic slightly-different-angle gameplay ones. Hoo-hah!
Update by Chad.

11/04/00
Okay, okay. We should have had Accounts by now. But guess what? Chad sent his to me, and I saved all of them to a disk (I'm managing my drive's memory better than on my old computer), and everything was okay...until I lost the disk. So now Accounts are somewhere in my pad, but I can't find them. They're lost, and until I find them, they're on hiatus. To make up for my irresponsibility, here's a brand new edition of Letters. Make love to it.
Update by Slush.

11/03/00
Tonight I accidentally super-glued my eyelids partially open, so we spent the majority of the evening remedying my vision rather than plinking out Accounts. But we've got something better, we do! Straight from IGN Pocket, who has already received a final copy of DKC on Game Boy Color, here are some new Donkey Kong Country Screenshots! Just be sure you avoid "Krazy Gloo" at all costs.
Update by Chad.

11/02/00
Oh. My groin...it hurts so bad. Don't ask why, just let me continue with the update. Accounts are tomorrow, but tonight we have some new Donkey Kong Country Screenshots, and all you need to do is click on the link to check them out. Before I check out, IGN64 has given Banjo-Tooie it's "Game of November" title. So we got B-T as the best N64 game this month and DKC as the best GBC game of the month (all according to IGN). Maybe this means the stock in our website will go up. We didn't tell you we were a public company, illegally using other companies' trademarks for our own profit? Well...
Our Friend: Silence! They know too much already!
Update by Slush.

11/01/00
Right, right, we're supposed to have Accounts tonight. But since we hate doing them, they'll be postponed until tomorrow, and if you're lucky, further than that (Slush: Hey, I don't see YOU guys having to organize 31 individual accounts of what happened over the last month and doing the backbreaking HTML, DO I?). Instead, we're merely providing the Update Archives and the surprising news that IGN Pocket has called Donkey Kong Country the game of November. I hope you blokes enjoyed this crappy update, or you'll never see this partially opened package of 800 toothpicks again! Bwahahaaa!
