Not much on the update grill tonight. Chad's kindly uploaded some new mp3s over at his site, some DKU-related ones among others, so check that out. Now let's all thank Chad. Thank you, Chad. There.

UPDATE #1
The most one-sided competition in history. We feel sorry for Mario. In a move that pleasently surprised all of us (no, we're being honest here), Nintendo has put up it's E3 2003 page with screens and info of some of the games we expect to see come May. Perhaps the biggest annoucement on the list is Mario Kart: Double Dash, the new GCN installment of the series. What's so special about it? Take a gander at that screenshot on the right. Yeah, that's right. For the first time in cameo game history, Diddy Kong is teaming up with Donkey to bitchslap these Mushroom Kingdom hippies with some good ol' fashioned Kong style.

Besides that, this game is loaded with interesting ideas: two characters per kart, one driving and one handling items, customized karts (check out the Barrel Kar, as I call it), and rumours of LAN capabilities (that's hooking up two GCNs and playing with 8 people, for you morons) and the possibility of a two-player mode, with both players taking up different roles on a kart.. Sound good? It is. We're gonna be putting up the Double Dash page up later tonight, with the new screenshots we have. Stay tuned.

Welcome to McDkVine. May I take your order? Perhaps, just perhaps, you would like a Super-Size McArtwork update. [KJ]StErOiDs was happy to deliver two fresh, made-from-scratch pictures for you to look at. He's well on his way to becoming Employee of the Month, er, Featured Artist if he keeps this up.

If that doesn't satisfy your McHunger, maybe you'd like to polish off your meal with a good serving of McThe Big Ol' Donkey Kong Character List, which Sean most happily made additions to. If you're STILL hungry, bugger off. Or eat your McDkvine Sappy Meal toy.

Our semifical Weekend Palooza of Donkey Kong Country Advance continues with the giant mass of cardboard and Rare-created renders that is the official boxart, circa Nintendo. Gaze in absent-minded awe for a time, then direct your attention back here. We have some new screenshots, and alongside that, I've taken out the microscope and performed an extensive Screenshot Analysis on the monster. Don't like all this coverage? Then go away and don't come back till Tuesday at the latest. Bishes.

We're almost done the first week of being back, and so far, we haven't missed ONE update. We've come close, but we haven't missed one. None at all. Nope. Ahem. Tonight we have a bevy(bevvy? bevie? I dunno) of stuff for the forbidden-love child of the Super Nintendo and GameBoy Colour: Donkey Kong Country GBA! As an aside, don't you just love how I can make the links appear so exciting with just an exclamation point? I should get an award for that. A pat on the back at the least.

Four consecutive days with an update. It's like a new DK Vine record. Actually, the record's 252, but who really gives a damn? Anyhoo, I noticed the ol' FAQ due for an update. Now read it, or else I'll... do nothing...

A funny thing happened today. I was walking along, minding my own business, when out of nowhere, boom, this update thing falls out of the sky. It landed on my head, causing a rather nasty bump, and closer inspection revealed it to be a new feature. With this information in tow, I rushed to the nearest police station to tell all of my findings. But nobody gave a damn. So I brought it here instead.

Howdy, ya'll. Before I begin, I need to express some necessary thanks. Here's a big "HUZZAH" to my friends Tom and Jason, who both contributed to the fancy little Editor page bio pics. Right then. A few other things to get off our plates: PLEASE donít e-mail us constantly telling us that such and such is down or is missing a picture or what have you. WE KNOW. WEíRE WORKING ON IT. Cut us some slack, jeez. Also, until we figure out how to get the News page to operate in a fashion that is comfortable for us, weíll be posting any News in the updates. Just like old times! Speaking of news, unless if youíve been blind the past few weeks, youíll have noticed that Nintendo and possibly Rare are in the midst of tackling the concept of porting Donkey Kong Country to a handheld console - AGAIN. With questionable results, no less. The game is apparently going to have a bunch of extra stuff, but Iím not going to write all that out right here, thatís what Screenshot Analyses are for. Yeees. Also of interest is Shigeru Miyamoto confirming that a Donkey Kong for GCN is under way: nothing else was said, natch. Rumours have floated around the Internet (as rumours tend to do) that suggest everything from the game being a 2-D platformer with 3-D graphics in the vein of the DKCs (the Donkey Kong Island theory) to DK being redesigned to look like the buff form of Cranky of old (the Donkey Kong Next theory, shudder) Did I mention the rumour of Mario Kart/Golf/Tennis GCN having LAN capabilities? Wee.

Your experiment today comes right from the bowels of my insidious anus: bios of those evil Nazi bastards lovable anti-plumbers, Wario and Waluigi! Not only that, but Klobber has returned from the feces-covered wastelands to bring you a smattering of filthy Artwork! Hey, we said we'd do daily updates: we never said we'd do GOOD daily updates.

Greetings all. Weíre finally back. Those of you who read the bottom of this update before they read the top will have noticed a new name. That name, for those of you too lazy to look, is Sparky Z. During our extended hiatus, I took the time to teach myself HTML, so Iím now a full-fledged, rootiní-tootiní, update-writing, site-running, still-UBB-moderating member of the staff. This change is reflected on the Bios page. Seanís bio has also changed slightly, since he is now the proud owner of DKC 1, 2, and 3. God bless some guy named Eric. That out of the way, lets get down to business.

First of all, Iíd like to apologize for our downtime. It turned out to be a bit (read: 4 months) longer than expected, but we spent the time making sure this canít happen again, and making sure everything possible is accounted for and intact. Unfortunatly, the messageboard wasnít recoverable, but we do have a new one ready. The server is fully paid for until next year and we have complete control over the content, so the only thing that could go wrong would be if the server exploded again. So, to answer the burning question on everyoneís minds, where are we going now? Whatís our focus? At the moment, itís divided. We are trying to provide a mix of the new and old. We want to keep up to date with all news, and be writing editorials, speculations, and such about upcoming games. However, 95% of our content is retro, and we canít just ignore that. Weíll be writing reviews, now that we have 5 more reviewing staffers, bios, while bringing old ones up to date with current events, and many other things. We may even resort to Palooza weekends again. At the same time, we have several projects going on behind the scenes. From small ones, like MST3K funnos and pictures for the staff bios, to big ones, like a bit of site reorganization, and a mind-bogglingly-large amount of site scouting. There are also a few secret projects which I wonít get into now (or ever, so donít ask).

However, Iíve saved the best for last. I, Sparky Z, am proud to announce the return of daily updates. We donít promise theyíll be good updates, but we promise to make at least one addition to the site per day and inform you about it.For today, we have a feature by Sean that was supposed to be out before the site went down. Enjoy!

Thatís about all for now. Questions, comments, and declarations of undying love go here.
